    We are hiring a Manufacturing Manager in Guizhou.

    Essential Functions/ Job Duties

     Manufacturing Operations Management

    • Day-to-day CM management and operational & manufacturing process improvement for better quality and efficiency, to continuously improve operational and manufacturing performance to achieve on time delivery, with right quality, in right quantity, at effective cost, from safe workplace.
    • Anticipate, identify and facilitate resolution of manufacturing and supply chain issues that will affect deliveries. Ensure DFx activities to achieve 100% resolution of manufacturing issues.
    • Responsible to ensure CMs consistently make product within iRobot’s product specifications, use pre-designed manufacturing methodology, use standard operating procedures and comply with Approved Vendor List (AVL) and Approved Material List (AML).
    • Facilitate and support a continuous improvement culture in CMs and material vendors to constantly improve operational and manufacturing efficiency, productivity, lead time reduction and product cost saving. Elimination of waste, implementation of Lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques (5S, Standard Work, process mapping, p-FMEA, Kanban/pull, Setup reduction, quick changeover, TPM, flow manufacturing & Line/cell layout, poke-yoke error-proofing, etc).
    • Drive and lead line/fixture automation and error proofing initiatives at CMs, in order to improve efficiency and defect detection.
    • Ensures CMs are well represented across the PLCM cycle in areas such as DFM, DFA, ramp up, MRP, change management, product and process reliability, cost saving etc.
    • Work with CM to drive material availability with Materials Manager and build readiness for production ramp builds in adherence to schedule requirements. Production arrangement to support new SKUs launch ramp up and pull in as well as ECN implementation by working closely with FE Manufacturing Engineering and FE Quality. Work with Materials Manager to assure new materials supply availability as well as minimize the old materials liabilities and rework to ensure on time delivery.
    • Manufacturing capacity management, including rough-cut capacity VS demand per SOP, process and capacity design, production line layout and capacity design, tooling capacity and fixture capacity management, etc.
    • Coordinate with Compliance team to ensure CMs have valid certifications for all new NPI and on-stream production and shipments.
    • Manufacturing database structure, maintenance and analysis for continual improvement of efficiency and productivity.
    • iRobot fixed asset (Tooling, fixture and tester) management and maintenance.

    Supply Chain Management

    • Proactively identify potential production and delivery issues and promptly resolve capacity, production, quality and supply issues that could impact the delivery performance or product quality, and closely collaborate with FE Manufacturing Engineering, FE Quality and FE Planning to resolve or minimize any potential impact.
    • Identify and lead component 2nd Sourcing development and supply chain optimization.
    • Coordinate and manage production schedule, supply and delivery schedule from key component suppliers to support the build plan at CMs.
    • Work with FE Engineering and FE Quality to identify and qualify robust suppliers – cost, lead time, quality, and reliability.



    • Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Automation with over 10 years' post-qualification experience with Global Corporations of which no less than 5 years in a manager position in a manufacturing or supply chain operation in China.
    • Strong Production management, supply management and Project Development & Management expertise.
    • Background in production and/or manufacturing engineering with knowledge in Plastics, PCBA assembly, electromechanical assemblies, industrial/process/manufacturing engineering systems and assemblies in the Manufacturing Industry.
    • Good working knowledge in system/process control, reliability engineering, compliance, aggressive for best quality.
    • Thorough knowledge in ISO systems, TQM, LEAN, Six Sigma, quality systems requirements, compliance and quality certifications
    • Proficiency in English and Chinese (preferably both Cantonese and Putonghua); and Well versed with multinational corporation culture and a sound understanding of the culture and working environment in US, Hong Kong and Mainland China.
    • Must be a mature and seasoned professional with exceptional leadership, communication and inter-personal skills. Proactive problem solving attitude, responsible and able to work under pressure


    LSS (Lean and Six sigma) GB (green belt) is a must, BB (black belt) is preferred.

    Automation and process improvement experience is a must.

    ERP and factory production planning experience is a must.
