  • Summary

    The Senior Corporate Development Associate is an integral member of a small team of professionals who work closely with Senior leadership as well as Business Unit leadership.  The person in this role will focus on driving growth for iRobot through exploration of new markets, M&A and partnerships as well as general strategy development.  They will do this in a team-based setting, and through rigorous fact-based analysis while ensuring alignment with iRobot’s growth strategy.  This will include working in close coordination with iRobot’s commercial business focused on current market areas, as well as Senior leadership focused on new market areas.  They will assume responsibility for portions of project scope, and be engaged in all aspects of projects and deals from initial identification to execution. 

    Essential Functions/ Job Duties

    • Drive strategy development projects that translate strategy into actionable initiatives
    • Provide rigorous fact-based analysis and synthesize insights into actionable recommendations
    • Support M&A and partnership initiatives
    • Develop comprehensive investment cases for both organic and inorganic investments
    • Execute selected global market research including competitive intelligence & analysis to support strategic decision making
    • Actively monitor market dynamics, including customer and competitive developments
    • Participate in development of long-term strategic plans which reflects customer & market inputs, iRobot capabilities, and the competitive environment
    • Assist with periodic company-wide investment portfolio reviews
    • Proactively engage with iRobot’s Commercial business to promote close collaboration and alignment


    • 2 – 3 years of professional experience
    • Experience with strategy development and / or M&A
    • Experience developing New-Market-Entry strategies and plans
    • Experience conducting market research including competitive intelligence
    • Demonstrated ability to translate customer desires into actionable plans
    • Experience working with cross-functional project teams
    • Capable of organizing information succinctly and communicating at all company levels
    • Experience with long term planning and road-mapping activities
    • BS preferred, a plus if in Engineering, or BA with experience in the technology sector
    • Management consulting and / or investment banking experience with a top-tier firm strongly preferred, or experience within a corporate development / strategy team
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication capabilities and the ability to influence multiple stakeholders with competing / conflicting interests
    • Up to 50% domestic and international travel required
