    iRobot Engineering is expanding, and is looking for an exceptional Embedded Software Engineering Intern to join our team. Key personality attributes should include passion, energy, and the desire to build.

     

    This internship will be a six month internship starting in May 2018 

    Essential Functions/ Job Duties

    As part of Product Development, you will be designing and implementing new technologies and features for next generation iRobot products.  Working in an Agile development process, you will design, implement, and document software to run on and test embedded platforms.

     

    As a team, you will create new automated testing and analytics infrastructure covering cutting-edge sensors, processor mainboards, and control systems.  Job functions will include: system level design, embedded development, low level driver implementation, and advanced analog/digital signal processing.

    Qualifications

    • At least two - three years of course work toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
    • Strong interest in Robotics, and academic experience programming in C, C++, or Objective C
    • Experience writing embedded C/C++
    • Software Test: C/C++, Python, automation
    • Experience with real-time embedded microprocessor and microcontroller systems
    • Solid understanding of design patterns, data structures and advanced programming techniques
    • Knowledge of embedded software such as: interrupts, ADCs, DMA, SPI and clock management Knowledge of data types, algorithms, object oriented
    • Strong analytical skills and a desire to learn
    • Strong understanding of computer systems including concurrent programming, operating systems, compilers and computer architecture

     

    Desired Qualifications

    • MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
    • Foundation in control theory, and experience writing control loops
