The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will enhance, mature, and support the iRobot Enabling Applications team for Product Service areas of business. The Enabling Applications Developer will help Developers and Engineers build new and support current iRobot custom applications that enable robot processing functions. They will work closely with the Platform Managers to add delivery capacity for existing and upcoming projects, aide in design of the next evolution of applications, and triage production issues.

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for testing and verifying site appearance, functionality and performance across multiple platforms. They will be required to enforce standards and identify defects against projects. In addition, they will create user catalogues and be a subject matter for the end user of the vast applications within the Enabling Applications domain. We want someone who is good at breaking things and working with others to find solutions.

• Test software to assure quality of new and existing functionality as well as maintain a strong vision for potential site improvements.
• Work among cross-functional teams including developers, platform managers, and stakeholders to ensure the viability of new feature integration.
• Drive process, technical, and operational improvements – including building automated tools.
• Develop test scripts and ensure testing needs are met.
• Perform triage and root cause analysis for production related issues.
• Work with Information Security to ensure best practices and iRobot requirements are met.
• All other tasks delegated by the Manager.

• Passion for software testing and quality
• Must be a team player with high energy.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality and/or testing using automated tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development cycle
• Must be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment - where change is the only constant.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Results oriented and with a strong customer focus.
• Experience with scripting languages (Perl/Ruby/Python, JavaScript, etc.)
• Strong understanding of Python a big plus
• Experience handling multiple QA Processes at once a big plus
• Must have extensive experience building automated processes
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting/problem solving skills
