Summary

The iRobot marketing team is seeking a Consumer Insights Analyst who is passionate about uncovering the “why” behind consumer decisions and marketplace dynamics through data mining, analytics, hypothesis testing and customer research.

 

The Consumer Insights Analyst will be comfortable synthesizing data sets including primary and secondary research, third party data, transactional data, and voice of the consumer data to develop a deep understanding of consumers, and uncover the drivers that influence business objectives for the iRobot home business unit. The Consumer Insights Analyst will exhibit an interest in developing and broadening their marketing and research expertise.

 

In addition to acting as an individual contributor, the Consumer Insights Analyst must be a strong team player with enthusiasm to help expand the effectiveness of the Insights & Global Marketing teams overall.

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

  • Manage, analyze and share insights from the analysis of syndicated data sources including GfK, Euromonitor, NPS and NPD.
  • Provide support on analytics deep dives including data cleaning, modeling, and distribution of insight analysis.
  • Analyze and assess competitive product offerings, synthesize primary and secondary market research and customer feedback.
  • Partner with marketing and other cross-functional teams such as product management and sales.
  • Support research activities to develop consumer understandings globally.
  • Support ad-hoc data collection requests for cross-functional teams.
  • Support ad-hoc system requests, e.g. mailing survey invitations from Oracle CRM.
  • Manage Consumer Insights research library.
  • Manage, draft and deploy surveys on iRobot’s consumer panel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or higher (Masters preferred) in math, business analytics, statistics or similar technical skill. Experience with econometrics, regression, discreet choice models and other advanced analytics preferred. 
  • Proficiency in SQL, R/Python and Tableau preferred.
  • Prior work or project experience as an individual contributor in market research or consumer analytics role desired. 
  • Experience with consumer goods companies, retail and direct sales channels strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer focus, drive for results and highly numeric skillsets desired.
  • Ability to effectively probe, intellectual curiosity and ability to translate strategy and insights into practical opportunities is essential.
  • Ability to be a strong team player and individual contributor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication, quantitative and analytical skills as well as problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional business partners.
