  • Summary

    As a Senior Test Engineer, you will develop and document test methods, procedures, and results that have cross functional and/or cross product applicability.  You will also support development of risk driven test plans that align with the program schedule, goals, and budget.  You may lead portions of the execution of these test plans.  You will coordinate execution of all new product and reliability testing being performed by the Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and by iRobot China engineering. Your responsibilities include documenting and tracking system test information, issues, results, and statuses for the areas of the design that you are assigned.  You should possess sufficient technical depth to troubleshoot complex cross functional problems and document findings as well as for escalation of any issues.


    Essential Functions/ Job Duties

    • Lead reliability test in different contract manufacturers (CMs):Ensure life test setup in different CMs according to iRobot specification.
      • Collect and analyze test data, present data and result to the cross function team.
      • Lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action activities
      • Support/work Engineering and Operation team during NPI builds.
      • Travel frequency is up to 50% to different CMs
    • Lead and Execute test for product performance and reliability in Guangzhou lab:
      • Lead development and maintenance of system-level test plans, prototype build and upgrade plans and execution (how many, when, etc.)
      • Perform product level testing and document/communicate results.
      • Lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action activities
      • Develop test methods, procedures, and/or test fixtures
      • Analyze test data, interpret results, and create summaries and design assessments
      • Support transition to manufacturing


     Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in engineering
    • 3-8 years testing electro-mechanical product testing, for development and/or manufacture
    • Adept at documenting, summarizing, and presenting complex test data in an informative and easily understood manner
    • Experience of troubleshoot for electric and/or mechanic module
    • Proficient verbal and written communicator in both English and Mandarin
    • Self-motivated, timely manner.
    • Willingness to travel to United States, and other location in China.


    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience testing consumer vacuum and/or robotic products
    • Experience developing automated test system
    • Experience of programming language, such as C, LabVIEW, Python
    • Experience of reliability data statistics with Minitab or Weibull
    • Ability to interpret and modify Engineering design documentation (schematics, drawings, etc.).
    • Experience of management for project/supplier/lab
