    The iRobot marketing team is seeking a Consumer and Market Insights Analyst who is passionate about uncovering the “why” behind consumer decisions and marketplace dynamics through data mining, analytics, hypothesis testing and customer research.


    The Consumer and Market Insights Analyst will manage primary and secondary research data sets. They will be comfortable synthesizing relevant data sets including primary and secondary research, third party data, transactional data, and voice of the consumer data to develop a deep understanding of consumers, and the drivers that influence business objectives for the iRobot home business unit.


    In addition to acting as an individual contributor, the Consumer and Market Analyst must be a strong team player with enthusiasm to help expand the effectiveness of the Insights for local and Global  Marketing teams overall.

    Essential Functions/ Job Duties

    • Lead marketing efforts through analytics
    • Lead the use of marketing mix analytics to improve marketing ROI.
    • Manage vendor relationships
    • Analyze and share insights from syndicated research sources such as GfK and NPD.
    • Track robotic vacuum cleaner segment and traditional vacuum cleaner market shares
    • Conduct data analysis from primary and secondary research reports to develop actionable insights that will inform communications, planning and program development.
    • Partner with marketing and other cross-functional teams such as product marketing team and sales to develop and deploy insight analysis for internal research projects.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of exploratory research activities including contextual consumer observation, enquiry, and focus groups.
    • Participate in research activities to develop consumer understandings globally
    • Analyze and assess competitive product offerings and synthesize primary/secondary market research as well as customer feedback into future product requirements.
    • Analyze the sales and marketing campaign through POS data


    • BA, BS or higher in math, business analytics, statistics or similar technical skill desired. Experience with econometrics, regression, discreet choice models and other advanced analytics preferred. Masters and marketing highly desired.
    • Prior work experience (5 years) as an individual contributor a market research or consumer analytics role desired. 
    • Experience with consumer goods companies, retail and direct sales channels strongly preferred.
    • Strong customer focus, drive for results and highly numeric skillsets desired.
    • Ability to effectively probe, intellectual curiosity and ability to translate strategy and insights into practical opportunities is essential.
    • Desire to grow in a leadership role, balanced by an ability to be a strong team player and contributor.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple concurrent projects.
    • Excellent communication, quantitative and analytical skills as well as problem solving capabilities.
    • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional business partners to execute recommendations and new products.
    • Possibility for travel including International.
