  • Summary

    As a Project Manager in iRobot’s Technology Organization, you will be responsible for guiding teams in the development of innovative new technologies.    


    This role will include supportive management and oversight of technical projects within the Technology Organization. 


    Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for communication and alignment with key organizations and stakeholders throughout the company to ensure successful project execution and delivery.  


    Working closely with Technology, Engineering, and Product Management leaders, you will build and leverage a strong understanding of business needs, state of technology maturity and development path, and product development roadmaps across all of iRobot’s product lines.  This role will be critical to ensuring iRobot maintains its technology leadership in the consumer robotics industry. 



    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development best practices, coupled with system thinking and excellent organizational skills. The Project Manager we are looking for will have a demonstrable past track record of success in leading development of products or innovative technologies through well thought-out and transparent delivery plans. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills.  Experience working on complex systems, inclusive of electromechanical and software components, ideally robotics, is strongly preferred. 

    Essential Functions/ Job Duties

    • Work closely with Technology Organization Leads to create and track project plans, appropriate to the stage of development, to facilitate timely delivery of new technologies and capabilities
    • Work with key company stakeholders, such as in Engineering and Product Management, to advocate for and properly represent technology development timelines, risks, and capabilities
    • Coordinate resource planning and task allocations to ensure timely adoption of new technologies into product development programs
    • Present updates to senior management as appropriate; provide articulate and concise program updates for regular communication across company


    • Degree in engineering field, with software focus
    • Experience with product development processes, with a full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles. 
    • Technical leadership or management experience
    • 4+ years software development project management experience.
    • Demonstrated experience delivering innovative products or technologies
    • Ability to manage multiple teams across broad range of technical domains
    • Working experience within an Agile environment as developer or project lead
    • SCRUM certification preferred
    • Experience in the robotics industry preferred
