Summary

We are seeking a Global Supply Planning Manager to work within the Global Operations team.  This position will lead the development of the Global Supply Planning technology platform, and serve as the Supply Planning super user post implementation.  The Global Supply Planning Manager will work closely with the regional Product Supply organization to establish and monitor safety stock levels to achieve optimal customer service.  In addition, the Global Supply Planning Manager will play a key role in the company S&OP process by establishing, analyzing and monitoring regional and Global inventory targets to meet the company financial commitments and customer service goals.  The Global Supply Planning Manager will assist with building capabilities within the supply planning function, and will enhance both business process and support technology to achieve business results in a more efficient manner.  As the position is a Global one, the Global Supply Planning Manager will travel as needed to the various regional company offices to help build collaboration and support for the latest processes and tools

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

  • Develop the supply plan template to be used by the regions to develop the monthly “supply plan” side of the S&OP process. Trains, coaches and helps the sites to improve their supply plan generation.  Establish procedures and ensure regional compliance to the process
  • In conjunction with the regions, construct an annual by-month inventory plan (to include targets and forecasts) with the objective of improving inventory turns. Publish a weekly Global inventory update to the organization as part of the overall S&OP process.  Develop all Global finished goods inventory KPI’s and ensure the business understands the metric
  • In conjunction with the regions, establish regional safety stock targets to support inventory and customer service objectives.  recommend changes to target inventories, turns and regional safety stocks when necessary to deliver optimal customer service levels
  • Achieve annual goals for applicable KPIs: Inventory turns, DII, Customer Service Metrics. Align with FE develop and monitor Schedule Adherence and Schedule Acceptance.
  • Support the New Product Introduction process by working closely with the Program and Product Management teams to ensure adequate time to develop Operations go-to-market plans.  Effectively communicate issues, risks, and opportunities for optimization
  • Develop supply plans to ensure continuous product supply while minimizing E&O. Work with commercial teams to ensure alignment of demand and supply plans 
  • Work closely with the Regional Product Supply teams to ensure lead-time and production capacity requirements are considered when reviewing demand vs. supply, including new product launches
  • Manage the MPS process for the company, developing net requirements and updating the 12-18 month rolling supply plan on a monthly frequency with net change updates.  Ensure there is appropriate communication of the supply plan to relevant parties
  • Address, with a sense of urgency, any supply issues, additional costs and preventative actions to contract manufacturers in the event of late deliveries and/or short shipments
  • Be a key participant of the S&OP process.  Elevate unresolved supply planning issues, provide input, offer potential solutions, and support follow-up activities
  • Factory(s) voice in the S&OP process, communication of balancing supply Vs regional unexpected demand and impact to overall schedule.
  • Serve as the Global Supply Planning Super User for the company Supply Planning tool.  Ensure regional compliance with system use, develop training material and documentation, and provide business input to continuously optimize the solution
  • Serve as the business lead in all Global Supply Planning system launches and updates
  • Manage the Global Rough Cut Capacity Planning process. Review impact of forecast on capacity (globally and regionally). In collaboration with the regions determines pre-builds strategies or lower than planned stock coverage, including stocking location.  Minimizing build spikes move towards a CM level load approach.
  • Create and release purchase orders
  • Ability to travel Internationally at times

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent working experience required. MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain and Logistics experience, relatable Procurement/Sourcing experience with at least 5 years of collaborating with related teams in a global structure
  • Proven track record of effective supply chain performance, including customer service, supplier and asset management, and continuous process and systems improvement is preferred
  • Sound computer skills including using the forecasting and planning tools of a major ERP software system (SAP AFS, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, I2, etc…).  
    * Good technical skills in all primary Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Certification from an accredited Logistics program (i.e. PMAC, APICS or Professional Logistician) is preferred
  • Process Excellence / Six Sigma - Green Belt / Lean Manufacturing is preferred
  • Possess strong and sound continuous improvement disciplines and convictions; Proven success in these areas is a must
  • Strong people & organizational leadership skills: Person of true convictions; Willing to stand up for those convictions; Able to communication, reinforce and coach/counsel others on those convictions; Unafraid of change / improvement
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of staff and outside customers/suppliers
