We are seeking a Robotics Engineering Intern to support the prototyping and development of early stage consumer robotic systems. Depending on skills and experience, job duties may include electronic circuit design, prototyping, and testing; computer or embedded systems programming; control system design and implementation; and mechanical design and assembly of robotics and systems.

 

This internship is a 6 month commitment from January 2018 -July 2018.

 

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

Students studying Electrical, Software, or Robotics Engineering are encouraged to apply. You will:

  • Work on next-generation, unreleased home robot concepts and product prototypes
  • Design, prototype, and test printed circuits independently and then in larger systems
  • Write software to control or test robots or mechatronic systems
  • Document both your hardware and your software for customers inside and outside the company
  • Work closely with a small group of excited, invested engineers

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • An inquisitive mind. Comfortable exploring work tasks, seeking out answers, and working independently when necessary
  • Strong interpersonal skills track record, excellent oral and written communication/briefing skills
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Unconditional love for robots

 

Optional Skills:

  • Knowledge of ECAD packages, including Altium and SPICE
  • Experience soldering surface mount components
  • Experience programming embedded hardware, like Arduino or Raspberry Pi
  • Proficiency with C, C++, and/or Python
  • Knowledge of MCAD packages, including Pro/E or Solidworks
  • Experience in machine shop, including lathe, mill, and hand tools
