Do you want to be a key member of a high performing team at the largest global consumer robots company? We're looking for an exceptional individual to lead our overseas financial operations. Reporting to the VP, Chief Accounting Officer, as the International Controller, you will have exposure to the Chief Financial Officer and be responsible for ownership of the accounting and financial reporting activity for all our international subsidiary locations in EMEA and APAC. This position is based in our London office.

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

  • Ensure accounting & financial reporting activities of all international are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Responsible for preparation of US GAAP financial statements across all locations
  • Ensure procedures are in place to maintain reconciliations between financial statements prepared in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements
  • Establish relevant financial controls to ensure the accuracy of the financial results with particular emphasis on
    • Revenue recognition
    • Defective and A-good returns reserves
    • Inventory accounting and cost of goods sold
    • Warranty costs
    • Fixed assets and related additions, disposals and depreciation
    • General accruals, including payroll, vacation and bonus
  • Assist in the planning/coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audits by external auditors
  • Oversee the country specific statutory audits and tax filings outside of the U.S.
  • Ensure financial systems required to support the business and financial reporting needs are designed, implemented and maintained appropriately – directly responsible for UK systems and oversight of systems in other locations
  • Ensure all Intercompany billing and related accounting is performed and reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department including management of direct staff in UK and indirect management of accounting staff in remote locations plus day-to-day Treasury functions
  • Liaise with Corporate accounting team on all critical accounting and financial reporting issues and provide accounting guidance to business partners
  • Assist with the implementation of internal controls, ensure compliance with all established controls and support Internal Audit’s quarterly internal control review procedures
  • Critically review current accounting and reporting processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation
  • Provide support to Corporate Tax department regarding quarterly tax provision calculation under US GAAP
  • Provide appropriate assistance for merger and acquisition related activities
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
  • Maintain an in-depth and up to date knowledge and understanding of both US and international accounting principles. Advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact international operations and reporting.


  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience working for a multinational company, preferably with US headquarters
  • Strong leadership with the ability to develop, manage and optimize cross-functional and multinational teams
  • International travel required – 25%-40%
  • 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in accounting roles
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting
  • CPA (or equivalent) preferred
  • Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems desirable
  • Ability to work in highly matrixed organization - adaptable and collaborative working style
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple concurrent projects while ensuring high quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present concepts and strategies to various internal and external audiences
  • Multi-lingual capability a strong plus
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience in consumer-based business preferred
  • Self-motivated problem solver
