Summary

Are you a natural leader who has a strong, service-oriented outlook? Have you been successful in prior systems administrator roles? We're looking for a Systems and Desktop Administrator, working onsite in our London office providing support for iRobot’s IT infrastructure and PC’s as well as support for other offices within Europe. Our Systems team works with all company groups to maintain systems, install updates and upgrades, and manage hardware requirements.  You will carry an individual workload, but will also participate in writing process documentation, training and procurement cycles. You will bring a strategic, proactive approach to analyzing current issues with a focus on laying the groundwork for solving future issues before they become critical. Effective, positive communication and relationship building across all company verticals and user experience levels will be required.

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot highly complex Server, Networking and PC hardware, software and peripherals.

  • Troubleshoots support problems and provides or obtains their timely resolution. Escalates complex problems to more senior IT Infrastructure Engineers to facilitate their resolution.
  • Assists in writing and maintaining technical documentation, policies and procedures related to networking and infrastructure and updates as necessary.
  • Adheres to company polices and industry standards on compliance, information security and confidentiality.
  • Identifies, documents and presents improvements to IT processes.
  • Provision and maintain network access for end users, hardware and shared software.
  • Provide timely resolution while executing outstanding customer service, continued communication with end-users and managing expectations for resolution.
  • Coordinate and implement application enhancements, updates and upgrades for assigned users.
  • Take part in on-call rotations to provide off-hours support.
  • Write, update and distribute end user documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare and conduct training for end users to support new applications, process and new-hire training.
  • Participate in evaluation, selection, negotiation and procurement process with equipment and application vendors.

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a related position, with progressively increasing responsibilities.

  • Strong commitment to providing superior customer service for end users at all levels of technical experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating systems, applications and hardware.
  • Knowledge of audio/visual equipment and peripherals.
  • Demonstrated success working creatively, calmly, and flexibly with multiple rapidly shifting deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
