Summary

We're looking for a Cloud Systems Manager to join our Global IT Cloud Engineering team in Shanghai, China. You will be responsible for contributing to the overall strategy, architecture and design of iRobot’s enterprise cloud footprint. We are looking for you to help move our IT team towards a more efficient and agile mind set.

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

Bringing a breadth of technology stacks, you will leverage a deep, hands-on skillset evaluating and recommending solutions in partnership with our engineering and development teams. We also ask that you provide guidance for our network, storage, management, and virtualization requirements both in China and globally. You will help with our focus on growing our serverless architectures and implementing efficient solutions to emerging problems. Most importantly, you will lead by example by creating top-notch technical output and modeling good programming/scripting practices, testing procedures, and documentation standards.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience with AWS in all aspects of cloud computing (infrastructure, data, functions as a service) with a proven capability to implement large-scale solutions.
  • Experience in architecture, technical design, and implementation including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS delivery models.
  •  Ability to work and communicate effectively on internal engineering teams, software development teams, and key vendors.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to implement CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud platform managed services.
  • Extensive scripting and/or software development skills.  Python preferred.
  • Experience with web standards including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, web security, firewalls, proxies.
  • Ability to write technical documentation and resolve to actually document what is built.
  • Thrive in both independent and team environments
  • Ability to mentor less experienced team members with a goal of producing top engineering talent
  • Ability to delegate effectively while also digging in and producing your own technical output
  • Capability to understand and implement an effective testing regime, including unit, integration, and scale testing
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
